The finest golf courses in Zell am See

Zell am See - Schmittenhöhe
Architect D. Harradine.
18 holes: 6262m: Par 72.

36 holes of golf on the broad flat plain between Zell am See and Kaprun. The courses take their names from the nearby mountains: Schmittenhöhe being the original and possibly the sterner test, characterised by fairly narrow fairways dotted here and there with original winter hay barns – a unique, and certainly immovable, obstruction.

  Zell am See - Kitzsteinhorn
Architect D. Harradine.
18 holes: 6003m: Par 73.
Kitzsteinhorn is a more recent addition with roomier fairways bordered by frightening rough. Both courses have their fair share of water features: Kitzsteinhorn’s the larger. The Clubhouse is modern with plenty of room on the patio for a sunny lunch in full view of the Alps.

Urslautaal
Architect: K. Preston
18 holes: 5967m: Par 71.
The first few holes twist through the farms behind the Clubhouse the course then plays out over some truly magnificent holes in front of the Clubhouse under the watchful gaze of the Steinernes Meer ridge that glows pink and orange in the evening sun.

Mittersill
Architect: G. Moser.
18 holes: 5666m: Par: 70.
Twisting and turning over the flood plain of the Salzach river the land has been well drained to create this testing course – not the longest but clever iron play will be required to negotiate the streams and island greens. A course for thinking golf, in a pastural setting.

Gut Brandlhof
Architect: D. Harradine.
18 holes: 6042m: Par 72.
Sheer rockfaces peer down at you from both sides of this narrow valley. The course itself jumps backwards and forwards over the river which comes into play on nearly every hole. Kill or cure for those with aquaphobia!

Other courses within striking distance:

Kitzbuhel-Schwarzsee
Just outside the famous ski-town a course that begins with 12 holes on the flat then climbs rapidly into the hills providing some severley testing holes over the closing stages.

Kitzbuhel-Eichenheim
On the outskirts of Kitzbuhel, one of the ultimate mountain golf experiences. Once played - never forgotten. The course is both stunning and amusing with roller coaster fairways and Greens slotted into narrow valleys. A stern test of golf, fitness and vertigo! Buggy strongly recommended for anyone over twenty! Exclusive Clubhouse and impeccable course maintenance.
