Le Méditerranée**** Fronted by the hustle and bustle of the old port of Cannes and backed by the old town (le Suquet), the refined Méditerranée hotel offers a supreme vantage point over the comings and goings in Cannes. Atop the hotel, beside the pool and sun deck, the rooftop gastronomic restaurant has arguably the finest view on the Riviera. There is also the provençal brasserie “Chez Panisse” with its sunny patio for more informal dining. Le Cavendish**** Just at the back of Cannes on the boulevard Carnot that leads out towards the motorway, Le Cavendish is Cannes first “boutique” hotel that offers a fascinating glimpse of bygone times on the Côte d’Azur – even going so far as an open bar in the drawing room. Built in 1897, Le Cavendish re-opened its doors in 2001, totally refurbished behind its listed façade, and returned to the style to which it had once been accustomed. Albeit with a few mod-cons too such as air-conditioning, satellite TV, mini-bars, valet parking, etcetera. |
