The best golf hotels in Provence

Moulin de Vernègues****
Since the beginning of the 13th Century there has been a water mill on this site as is seen from the ancient cellars of today’s hotel. The current building stands beside the second green of seve’s Pont Royal course and has been returned to its once regal splendour. The shady terrace overlooking the pool is ideal for lunch and from this cool vantage point you may observe the fortunes of passing golfers battling with the tricky second, before trying it yourself.
  Hotel

Domaine de Massane***
Tucked away outside the town of Montpellier and close to the summer beaches, a golf resort well positioned for the other courses in the area that complement its own. The bedrooms are built in groups around the central reception, pool, bar, restaurant and clubhouse giving an open air feeling to this modern hotel complex. Breakfast is served in the central restaurant building, or room service is available. The nearby town of Baillargues has a couple of small restaurants other options are available down on the beachfront.
  Hotel

Du Côté des Olivades****
A small family run hotel with just ten rooms built in the Provençal style just outside the little town of Le Paradou. The hotel is particularly handy for the rustic 9-hole course of Les Baux, which is a charming spot in the hills just behind the hotel. André Bourguignon, a restaurateur by trade, owns and runs the hotel and takes great pride in ensuring that the food served is only the very best. He often rises in the wee small hours to secure the best of the day’s catch at the fishmarket.
  Hotel

Domaine de Châteauneuf****
Further to the East, between Marseilles and Toulon, the Domaine de Châteauneuf is a quintessentially Provençal Manor house. Built in the 18th Century, the secluded house now gazes out from its shady garden of cypresses and chestnuts at the sun-drenched contours of the ste. Baume golf course. The whitewashed walls and pan-tiled roofs house totally renovated and redecorated rooms; these are grouped either around the central courtyard or the pool and terrace. As the hotel sits at an altitude of 500m the evenings are a little cooler: the relief from the heat of the day is just perfect for dining al fresco.
