Le Diana**** - Carnac

Facing the ocean in the ever popular holiday resort of Carnac-Plage, Le Diana is simply the best hotel in town. A family owned and well run establishment where you are assured of a warm welcome and a very comfortable stay.

A large bar and restaurant overlooks the sunny patio and outdoor pool (heated). Westerly facing, this is a superb spot for sundowners or a languid dinner. Downstairs there is a small health & beauty parlour with a Turkish bath, Jacuzzi and massages can be arranged to soothe those golfing muscles. The hotel has a variety of room sizes and orientations – our prices are based on those along each side of the hotel with balconies overlooking the pines: there is a supplement for those facing the ocean. Suites are also available.

GweNnroz - Quimperle

Joyce and Cedric are already known to many of our regular golfers from their fifteen years at La Chenaie and our Spring and Autumn golf feasts.  They have now moved further up, and closer to, the coast at Clohars Carnoët.  Their adorable new abode "Gwennroz" offers very flexible accommodation and is very close to the two courses of Val Queven and Ploemeur Océan, with others not far away.

The house sleeps up to 12 (14 at a pinch) with four apartments on the ground floor with adequate kitchen facilities for simple self-catering; there are a further two en-suite rooms on the first floor (that do not have cooking facilities).  On the first floor too there is a sitting room which is open to all and this is where Joyce and Cedric will provide you with breakfast each morning.

You may book as many or as few of their rooms as you like for your party.  The arrangement of the accommodation will allow you to be as involved or as independent from the other guests as you would like.

The house has nice gardens both front and back, their hamlet is nice and quiet during the day and the beach at Le Pouldu is only a mile away (you can walk there in twenty minutes).

Joyce and Cedric will no longer be providing dinners (unless you can sweet talk Cedric into one of his famous barbecues) but just over the road "Le Relais des Peintres" has a good menu and sensible prices.  There are many more restaurants in the vicinity that you can drive to - Joyce and Cedric will be able to recommend who's cooking what and where.

Hotel du Golf de St. Laurent***

A perfect golfing location – right next door to St. Laurent golf course.  The Hôtel du Golf is a bright, modern style hotel where you will sleep peacefully in the depths of the countryside and be on the First Tee straight after breakfast.

All of its rooms open out onto a private terrace or balcony and they have all the features you would expect plus, unusually in France, tea and coffee making facilities. Other extra feature that not many three-star hotels can offer are a jacuzzi, sauna and tanning bed, making the Hôtel du Golf St. Laurent a cosy little retreat.

The hotel has young new owners who have re-vitalised the establishment, particularly the restaurant that now serves classic French cuisine and looks out over the blue of the heated outdoor pool (May – September).

To get to other restaurants in the vicinity (Carnac is about fifteen minutes away) you will need to drive or arrange a taxi.

Celtic Hotel** - Auray

In the centre of the market town of Auray the Celtic is a simple family run hotel (it has been in the same family for at least 30 years) that offers a good base for golfing in southern Brittany lying so close to St. Laurent and Baden Golf Clubs, with the further flung courses of Val Queven or La Baule easily accessible via the N165 dual carriageway that links Auray with Lorient and Nantes.

The hotel has been very modernised over the last two years and now offers 18 stylish bedrooms.  The compact rooms make good Singles or Doubles but are a quite cosy if you are looking for Twin rooms (it is after all a two-star hotel).

The breakfast buffet is worthy of a grander establishment and is sure to set you up for a good day on the Breton courses. There is no evening restaurant at the hotel, but it is just a ten-minute stroll down to the old port on the river where there are plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Hotel Celtique*** - Carnac

A stone’s throw from the beach in Carnac-Plage the modern Hôtel Celtique is very well positioned for those wishing to combine all the activities of a friendly seaside resort with easy access to the southern Brittany courses. N.B. The Single room supplement is very reasonable.

This family run hotel with its en-suite rooms, has several unique features including an indoor pool, private garages, whirlpool, gymnasium and a Turkish bath.

Dinner is served under the glass conservatory of the restaurant “An Doal” or alternatively outside on the wooden terrace. Meandering down into Carnac-Plage you will soon be encirlced by its wealth of bars and restaurants.

Chateau de Locguenole

Chateau de Locguenole**** - Lorient

This stately home, constructed in the early 1800’s is a hushed tribute to a bygone era. An aura of noble calm pervades the halls where ancestral oils gaze down on polished wooden floors bedecked with exquisite antique furniture.

Carefully converted by the "de la Sablière" family into a luxury hotel, complete with Michelin starred restaurant.  Many rooms have exposed beams and all have wonderful views over the Château’s 250 acres of grounds and 2 kms of river - a treat for quiet walks.

One of the huge variety of bedrooms.
