Golf holidays in Perugia

The city of Perugia was the epicentre of the Etruscan civilization and as such is surrounded by fascinating historical towns: Assist, Todi, Gubbio to name but a few.  Golf holidays in Perugia are therefore as much about the culture and history of Umbria as they are about golf.

The sights and scenery are splendid, driving through the sun drenched landscapes takes a while as you have to stop so often for photo opportunities!

Perugia alone has enough to see to fill a couple of days sightseeing: Palazzo dei Priori, Cattedrale San Lorenzo, Chiesa di San Pietro and the Fontana Maggiore in the main piazza just for starters!  Around town there is a whole host of museums and galleries too.If you happen to be in Perugia on a feast day you are sure to come across a marching band or three vying for position in the square.

Getting to Perugia

There are not too many flights everyday into Perugia: the Ryanair service from Stansted being the principal direct route.

Alternatively, the drive from Rome is not too far and many golfers will choose to combine a week in Rome with a few days investigating Umbria and Perugia.
