The Giardino Hotel is a simple, straightforward family run hotel that could not be more central: what you see is what you get. The location is the great attraction, with the lake in front of you (small supplement for lake view rooms) and the narrow streets of the old town behind you, the whole of Arona is on your doorstep. The restaurant of this family run hotel was sold off some years ago so is now a separate entity beside the hotel; needless to say it is not the only dining option in a popular Italian town! Just a short stroll away there are plenty more superb trattorias plying their trade, reliant on the mouth watering flavours Slightly inconveniently the hotel does not have its own car-park, so spaces have to be found in the streets in front of the hotel and along the lakeshore drive. In reality this is not a huge problem apart from the month of August, when the whole country seems to go on holiday and is possibly too hot for golf in any case! |

| Hotel Antares**** Externally the Antares appears a little cold and uninviting: inside it is anything but. The unexciting exterior is in total contrast to the warmth of welcome that you will receive once inside. Bedrooms are sensibly sized, clean and tidy and offer all the requisites for a comfortable golfing stay. The location is excellent, in the centre of the more modern (southside) part of town and very close to the ferry port for trips around the lake and no shortage of cafes, shops and restaurants. Another advantage is the private garage: easy and secure. The Antares has a small bar beside the reception, but no restaurant. Arona's old piazza is a mere five minute stroll way where there is plenty of choice of places to dine. N.B. The Antares will be reopening in Spring 2012 after a total, year-long, refurbishment. We will bring you some pictures of the new decor - pronto. |
