Concorde Hotel - Lake Maggiore

Hotel Concorde*****

Just on the northern edge of Arona, pressed up between the rock face behind and the lakeside road in front, the Concorde is the largest hotel in town. From the balconies of the air-conditioned bedrooms there are wonderful views out over the lake to the castle of Angera on the far side. The hotel has ample parking and you can stroll from the hotel into the town’s main piazza in five minutes. The bar and restaurant on the ground floor offer panoramic views across the lake and a very good menu too! There is a fashionable nightspot around the corner from the hotel, however this is only open on Friday and Saturday evenings in the summer months. So unlikely to disturb your slumber, unless you happen to be in it!

Hotel Antares****

Externally the Antares appears a little cold and uninviting: inside it is anything but. The drab grey exterior is in total contrast to the warmth of welcome that you will receive once inside.

The location is excellent, right in the centre of Arona, close to the ferry terminal and all the cafés, shops and restaurants. Another advantage is the private garage, so no overnight parking concerns.

The Antares has a small bar beside the reception the perfect place to foregather before venturing out to dine beside the lake in Arona’s main square (the hotel itself does not have a restaurant). The bedrooms are comfortably sized, clean and tidy and have everything you need for a comfortable golfing stay.

Giardino Hotel - Lake Maggiore

Albergo Giardino***

The Giardino hotel could not be more central, with the lake in front and the narrow streets of the old town behind you, the whole of Arona is on your doorstep. The restaurant of this family run hotel was sold off some years ago so is now a separate entity beside the hotel; needless to say it is not the only dining option in an Italian town! Slightly inconveniently the hotel does not have its own car-park, so spaces have to be found in the streets in front of the hotel and along the lake. In reality this is not a huge problem apart from August, when the whole country seems to go on holiday!
