We were highly honoured to be invited this
year to the Louis Jadot en-primeur tasting, where samples of the first
fruits of 2006's vineyard labours were on display.
From the array of lovely wines on show, we have chosen six whites and
six reds which exemplify the vintage and we feel are sure to improve over
the coming years.
We are delighted to be able to offer you these wines before they go on
general sale.
N.B. These wines are still in the barrel and will be
bottles and ready for delivery around October/November 2008, subject to
maturity.

Whites
| Santenay
Clos de Maltes Blanc Despite the youth of the vines from the Clos de Maltes vineyard in the southernmost commune of the Cotes de Beaune, this wine always shows real balance and complexity from cask. Impressive and great value. £155.00 per dozen |
Savigny les Beaune Haut Jarron Attractive, clean, fresh fruit aromas here with well integrated oak showing lovely mid palate richness, giving this wine a great long term potential. £175.00 per dozen |

1er Cru Very refined style showing impressive generous, plump fruit married to a concentrated steely core. £225.00 per dozen |
Chassagne Montrachet 1er
Cru Morgeot Open and highly aromatic with real concentration. Quite a forward style that is easy to appreciate now with a long, satisfying finish. £340.00 per dozen |
| Puligny
Montrachet 1er Cru Quite and accessible style, open with attractive purity and long, rich flavor. Lovely racy but delicate acidity. £335.00 per dozen |
Corton
Charlemagne Grand Cru Totally different style to the Pulignys but no less impressive. This is typically powerful with richness and length on the palate with just enough acidity to give real balance and finesse. £650.00 per dozen |
Reds
| Moulin a Vent Clos
de Carquelin Lovely deep colour for the vintage with attractive aromas of red fruit and coffee. Well defined flavours supported by a sturdy backbone of integrated oak and tannin. This is not Beaujolais as you know it. £175.00 per dozen |
Santenay Clos de Maltes Rouge Typically floral and scented with light, red fruit flavours on the palate. The lower than average acidity here has combined to soften tannins making it very approachable now. £140.00 per dozen |
Beaune 1er
Cru Most attractive on the nose with judicious oak and ample fruit on the middle palate. Quite forward and approachable already with a long and elegant finish. £195.00 per dozen |
Pommard 1er Cru In marked contrast to is neighbouring vineyard of Rugiens, this is somewhat open and expressive with a lightness of touch and a silky floral character. The finish is long and mildly toasty. £315.00 per dozen |
Nuits St George
1er Cru Coming from a half hectare parcel this wines shows real backbone and structure. Its is full bodied, tannic and vigorous, rich in fruit and concentration although shows an elegance with smoky nuances. £395.00 per dozen |
Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Plump red fruit in this forward style but with the firmness of structure expected from top quality Gevrey. It will however mature a little quicker than 2005 enhancing its drinkability. £350.00 per dozen |
