Play golf and save small lives
This year, for the first time, we have decided to support a charity. Sport holds a unique place in all our lives and brings people together from all walks of life. If we can harness a little of this energy to improve the lives of those less fortunate than us through no fault of their own, then it can only be a good thing. We have therefore chosen to support SPARKS the medical research charity for children through a small donation from every holiday we sell. This donation equates to 50p for every golfer that travels with us.
This may not seem a lot, but over the years to come it will help bring light into many young lives.
SPARKS – SPort Aiding medical Research for KidS
Founded and supported by top personalities in sports and entertainment, SPARKS aims to raise money for research into childhood diseases such as cerebral palsy, meningitis, premature birth, spina bifida, childhood arthritis and cancers to name but a few.
Since 1991, SPARKS has funded more than 150 medical projects in the UK, totalling over £11 million in funds raised. Fundraising activities range from coffee mornings, school fun runs and local 5-a-side soccer cups to star-studded gala balls, Pro-Am and Celebrity-Am golf days, clay pigeon shooting, polo tournaments and fashion shows.
If you would like to know more about SPARKS and the wonderful work they underwrite you can read all about them at www.sparks.org.uk
If you like what you see, why not enter a team in one of their many golf days?
A thank you from Martin Johnson CBE

Even my best friends wouldn’t describe me as much of a golfer. Total novice is how I’d rank myself. Of course, that’s a bit of a handicap when you’re president of that great charity, SPARKS, with its proud tradition of highly-successful celebrity and corporate golf days. Which goes to explain why I spent more time caddying and cheerleading at my own 2005 SPARKS Presidential Classic. But you’ll be pleased to know I intend to get some serious lessons in by the time of the 2006 event, in the hope that I can ‘putt’ in a more impressive performance. But what really impresses me is the news that Golf Par Excellence, a terrific holiday company, have teamed up with SPARKS to form a new charity golf partnership. That’s great news for SPARKS.
My sincere thanks to everyone at Golf Par Excellence for their support. And, if I can manage to get my golf up to par by November, I might even see you in Morocco…. |
