|Tuesday 19th May
Morning: Second competition round at Barlassina G.C.
A wonderfully traditional Golf Club tucked away in a high-class residential area between Milan and Como. 18 thickly wooded holes and clever bunkering will tease and entertain. Barlassina is about half-an-hour from Como.
Afternoon and evening: at leisure.
Wednesday 20th May
A full day off to relax and soak up the beauty of Lake Como and the surrounding hills.
The old medieval walled town of Como with its marbled cathedral is perfect for casual strolling, cappucino tasting (with or without dolcetta) and of course designer shopping for a very easy morning.
After which you can hop on one of the hydrofoils that skim across the water up to the picture-postcard town of Bellagio.
In the evening why not jump on the funicular up to Brunate for stunning views of the lake and the Alps.
Alternatively a day out in Milan is very easy on the direct trains from Como central.
Or if three days of golf is not enough for you then consider the drive over to Bergamo to play their wonderful Alpine course and visit the delightful old hilltop town.
Too much to do really for just one day!
|Thursday 21st May
Morning: Third and Final competition round at Monticello G.C.
One of Como's swankiest Clubs where Ferraris and Lamborghinis vie for pride of parking place! Two oustanding courses, we will be playing the Rosso, which has hosted the Italian Open on many an occassion, so a fitting setting to determine our champions.
The course is about twenty minutes from the hotel.
Evening: Reception and prize-giving dinner in the Palace Hotel (wines included).

Palace Hotel Como****
The best-placed hotel in Como - right on the lakeshore from where the whole town is within walking distance and passenger boats ply their trade on the quay.
The Palace hotel is a large establishment with spacious rooms around a central forecourt that also provides some of the parking facilities (there are 30 more spaces in an underground helical automaton behind the hotel - a fascinating piece of equipment).
The hotel's restaurant, 'L'Antica Darsena' forms a secluded corner at one end of the building and has a fairly gastronomic menu although not overly pricey and a very reasonable wine list featuring many products of the local vineyards.
The small two-storey building by the entrance houses the bar upstairs and the ice-cream parlour on the ground floor (well it is Italy!). The sunny patio is the perfect spot to while away an hour or two watching the gentlefolk of Como taking their "passeggiata".
Flights and Hire-cars to Lake Como
The closest airports to Lake Como are Milan's Malpensa or Linate. From either it will take about half an hour to get to Como as the autostrada runs practically into town!
Flights: Easyjet, British Airways, Alitalia and many other airlines offer flights from all over Europe to Milan: please let us know if you would like us to advise on the best routes for you?
Whether you ask us to book your flights or arrange these yourselves, we can organise a hire-car to be ready and waiting for you at the airport.
Renault Megane (suitable for two): £225.00
Opel Zafira (for four): £285.00
