Our second Seniors Week of the year followed on directly fram Deauville and we enjoyed another week of glorious sunshine in La Baule. We were lucky enough to stay in the lap of luxury at the Hermitage Hotel***** - right on the seafront - a fitting setting for the clash of the titans between Sundridge Park and West Lancs Golf Clubs!
Our welcome dinner at Fouquets proved to be a great start to the week and the prize-giving at the Castel Marie-Louise a fitting end.
The forests of La Baule and La Bretesche echoed to the sound of laughter from both sides as the contest got under way in exactly the right spirit of competitive camaraderie. After three days gruelling golf (not really!) the winners emerged as Melville and Bassey Dunbar who held of a strong challenge from the NorthWest.
A very special mention goes to Lorna Sharman of West Lancs G.C. who scored a Hole-in-One on the Bleu course at La Baule to end the tournament in some style! Well played Lorna!!!
