If you like the idea of staying in the Cairngorms National Park and playing a round or two at the fabulous Boat of Garten Golf Club there is no better place to rest your head. The Boat Hotel, once the town's only watering hole, is these days more akin to a boutique hotel with quaint rooms, a large bar and a very good restaurant!
The Boat Hotel was once-upon-a-time the simple Railway Hotel, but things have moved quite a way down the line since the new owners took over and totally renovated the place. All of the bedrooms are of different shapes and sizes (some are very original) the one thing they have in common is good quality furniture and well appointed bathrooms. There has also been a small extension to the property, wherein there are four, slightly larger, 'garden rooms' that open out onto their own small patios.
One of the big attractions of the Boat Hotel is its food: the restaurant is well-known throughout the local area for the quality of food on offer, so make sure you ask us to reserve a table for you - especially if you are staying over a weekend. Needless to say, there is also a rather welcoming bar with real fires burning in the grates.
A unique features of the Boat Hotel is the Speyside Steam Railway that stops beside the hotel - a beautiful sight as it chugs through the glens and the ideal way to visit Aviemore or the Speyside whisky trail. This is a lovely way to journey back in time through the magnificence of the Spey Valley and the Cairngorm National Park.
